Underrated movies III
It’s All About Love 2004. “Confused, convoluted, and pretentious.” The critics universally panned the film, but this genre defying movie is beautifully photographed, full of surreal moments, merging sci-fi with magic realism, and full of poignant reflections. In short this ‘cut-up’ dream refuses to be pigeon-holed into a neat Hollywood narrative structure; thus demanding a careful attention which all too easily gets the thumbs-down from those that like less thought-provoking, more straight-talking fodder.
“An apocalyptic, fantastic dream of a love story wrapped up in a hallucinatory cocktail of poetry and karma.” Metaphysical.
