I haven’t yet seen the 2013 film of that name but I am fascinated that the movie is based on an unpublished graphic novel. There can’t be too many movies based on unpublished material?
I would love to see the comic book version; surely there would be interest from others and a £$making op for the author? But apparently despite reports of releases, any images extant were made merely to sell the movie pitch. That’s the way it goes these days it seems?
For instance in a recent newspaper article the comedian Doc Brown [brother of the author] said White Teeth Zadie Smith ‘lives in a hovel’, waiting for that Hollywood film contract. Whatever happened to the struggling artist? Creative endeavours by and large do not make you wealthy nor famous [at least in your lifetime]. Go into Banking kids. Or be happy with a life of penury.
- Dune, Alejandro Jodorowsky 1974
- The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, Terry Gilliam 1999
