By these standards the apartment of Korben Dallas in The Fifth Element seems positively spacious. At first I thought the ‘2 metres’ tag must be a typo! Hardly I would say, as billed,  an apartment. Still, small living is nothing new.

Perhaps the solution to all urban city living latter 21st century will be modular, unit based pods? Strangely the progress of technology make these micro dwellings more viable? Flat screens etc. They certainly encourage less clutter. Just like living on a narrow boat. Getting the human race mentally adjusted to living off-world or back to the cave [depending which way the future goes.
