and rot inside a corpse’s shell
I have recently learnt about the Thrill the World series of events [whilst researching for my new blog at outrunthezombies]. Sounds like fun. I look forward to finding a local event this Halloween and giving it a go.
Was it really 30 years ago this December that Thriller was released? I remember staying up till midnight to watch the ‘in full’ version of the video that accompanied the track on the still then newish Channel Four as part of an extended The Tube UK premier. I was knocked out by this movie/music gestalt. Of course the best thing was the Vincent Price voice over.
There is a YouTube video showing inmates at Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, Cebu, Philippines in their DayGlo orange prison fatigues dancing to the track [Unfortunately not quite a Thriller in Manilla]. Perhaps this should form part of all rehabilitation schemes? On release they could take senior citizens to tea dances.
Just imagine what other japes could be engineered with what is after all quite literally a captive audience. Human domino toppling, Karate kata a la Bruce Lee’s film Enter the Dragon, precision military rifle drill routines.
